Reverse osmosis (RO) membrane is a semipermeable membrane that is designed to remove ions, molecules, and larger particles from a solution. It is commonly used to purify water and other liquids, and is also used in industrial processes and wastewater treatment. The RO membrane consists of a thin layer of semi-permeable material, usually a polymer, that is designed to allow only certain molecules and ions to pass through it.
The membrane works by applying pressure to the solution, which forces the molecules and ions through the membrane and into a separate reservoir on the other side. The molecules and ions that are not allowed to pass through the membrane are left behind in the original solution. The RO membrane is typically made of a polyamide material, and is designed to be highly selective and efficient in removing undesired contaminants from a solution.
